Shirley MacLaine, Akademi ödüllü Amerikalı kadın oyuncu.
Yaşamı
Richmond Virjinya'da 24 Nisan 1934'de Baptist inançları olan İngiliz kökenli bir Amerikalı bir baba ile İrlanda ve İskoçya kökenli Kanadalı bir anneden dünyaya geldi. Liseyi Virjinya'da bitirdikten sonra Broadway'de oyuncu olabilme hayaliyle New York'a taşındı.
The Pajama Game adlı filmde Carol Haney'in ayağını burkup onun yerine geçmesiyle bu amacına ulaştı.
MacLaine, tanınmış bir oyuncu olmasının yanında New Age inançları üzerine yazdığı otobiyografik çok sayıda eserle New Age'i geniş kitlelere tanıtıp sevdirdi. Eşleri ve dostları aracılığıyla pek çok spiritualist ve din adamlarıyla biraraya geldi. Yaşadığı deneyimleri kitaplarında okuyuculara aktardı. Önemli kitaplarının çoğu Türkçe'ye de çevirilmiştir.
